My Favourite Table Lamps

The fastest way to bring style into your night-time home is to add some lamps. Whether on the floor or on a table, having multiple sources of light will bring instant chic to even the plainest of rooms. All those bright downlights are great in kitchens and bathrooms where there’s tasks to be seen and done. But in the living area and bedrooms, a more gentle glow will make the room (and us!) look much more appealing.

It’s easy to fit a matching pair of table lamps into your living area through the use of a sofa table or sideboard. This first example is simple but still a stand-out with their sinuous black bases.

Waking up in the morning to a gorgeous looking bedside lamp is a joy even when the lamp is turned off. Start your day right with this delicious duck-egg blue base and balloon-like opaque shade.

Some days it’s just time to make a statement. Table lamps can be mini-sculptures (or in this case perhaps actually maxi-sculptures!) like this 1970s stone pair in this glamorous master bedroom. Their exaggerated curves echo the bedspread pattern and perfectly flank the round brass hanging platter.

And some times it’s all about a beautiful collection of white homewares that just happens to include a table lamp.

Consider where you might add a table lamp or two. It’s another opportunity to bring your unique personal style into your home.
