Nani Marquina was immersed in a unique world of creativity from her early childhood. Her father, Rafael Marquina, is the creator of the famous Marquina oil cruet which is an icon of Spanish design.
Nani Marquina studied industrial design at the Escola Massana in Barcelona and began her career in interior design. When she couldn’t find rugs that were in tune with a client’s space, she filled the gap with her own creations, which led to a new career as an independent textile designer.
Nani says that “Design is part of the company’s soul, and this is what has allowed us to achieve our goal – creating rugs that convey emotions and a sense of wellbeing. Rugs that people fall in love with.”
Nani Marquina collaborates with prestigious international designers to create unique collections. My personal favourite is the collection by Spanish designer Jaime Hayón (below).
