Textile Tradition

Tom Helme and Martin Ephson are best known as the partnership behind the iconic premium paint and wallpaper brand Farrow & Ball.

After selling that business six years ago, they are now back with an innovative take on the premium fabric market with their new company Fermoie.

Fermoie designs are hand painted in-house and then printed in England on cottons and linens. The patterns all have a distinctly British feel – contemporary and yet also part of a long and rich textile tradition.

As Tom Helme explains “Fermoie’s aim is to capture the life, light and enjoyment of old woven textiles. We print traditionally with a light touch using pigments creating a subtle impression but with the depth of a woven fabric”.

Lovers of the exquisitely crafted paints and wallpapers of Farrow and Ball will recognise the same artisanal quality in Helme and Ephson’s beautiful Fermoie fabrics.
