Pop Goes Australiana

Roofus Australia is an art and homewares design business created by Cate Broadbent. The brand reflects the bold energy and spirit of the Australian landscape in a new style she calls Pop Australiana.

I first came across Roofus at the monthly Makers’ Market at the Heide Museum of Modern Art in Melbourne, Australia. Their designs really stood out as vibrant and fresh.

Heide Museum of Modern Art began life in 1934 as the home of John and Sunday Reid and has since evolved into one of Australia’s most important cultural institutions.

The Heide Museum is a collection of buildings set in acres of picturesque gardens. In 1964 the Reids commissioned the construction of a ‘gallery to be lived in’ from David McGlashan. This modernist architectural icon (now known as Heide II) is one of my all time favourite residential buildings in Australia.

Definitely a great place to visit when you’re next in Melbourne.
